I have the autoimmune disease Rheumatoid Arthritis, being diagnosed with Juvenile RA when I was 17, which has now developed into Adult RA. My condition has ranged from severe to in remission and now I am medicated and stable. I have been able to run half marathons, travel extensively, and live life fully.
I hope to help others and bring people together to fight the good fight together!! When I was diagnosed and to this day I have had so many questions. Why did I get this? Is there certain foods that make it worse? What medications and tools do others use? How can I help others? ETC.... As you can see, I could write a novel on this. What I want is to be able to talk to people who have experienced something similar to me and together we can share and maybe learn something from one another that can help. At the least, have someone who can empathize. With getting this disease at a young age, I automatically felt different than all my peers. Today, I have adjusted, but still would enjoy a community that this meet up could bring.
I am a 27 year old profesional, working in the Financial District. I was born in North Dakota, attended University of Nebraska (Go Big Red) and have been living in working in San Francisco for over three years. I enjoy traveling and being active.
