Hi all! Let's do it again in December! I'm looking for someone to teach us how to make a personal muslin for this class. I hope you're interested.
What: monthly sewing gathering
When: first Tuesdays of every month starting September 4th, 5:30-8:30pm
Where: my home in North Berkeley
Who: limited to a group of 5 sewers
Why: to meet like minded sewers, exchange ideas and motivation, yay!
Hi Everyone - I am so sorry about not replying, but I was not getting these emails!!
Unfortunately since I am not an organizer for Bay Area Sewists I cannot limit the number of RSVPs within the meet-up page. I normally keep track of who RSVPs first by the timestamp of the mails I get, but I have not been receiving them from meet-up at all so I will have to check what's going on.
I will re-schedule the Muslin class to try and figure out how I can host more people. Although I would like to, I am unable to host all of you at this time.
If you would still like to meet-up to sew I will re-post that for this week on Wednesday to give you one more day to consider it.
I regret any inconvenience this may have presented for you and look forward to welcoming you when I have more space!!

Hi Everyone!!! Just joined the group. I am based in the South Bay, Cupertino/Mountain View area. Anyone interested in South Bay activities, please let me know. I plan on organizing South Bay activites!
I am mostly a sewer (clothing construction). I don't do many crafts currently, but have done a lot in the past. I also knit. Not a novice, but not an advanced knitter either...so could use some expertise in that area. I recently started sewing again after a really long break (20yrs), and getting back in the swing of things. I'm not a novice sewer, but much better at sewing than knitting...well a lot better than knitting. I did study fashion design in my 20s...so I'll be doing some refresher classes in 2013.
I am also a student of traditional Chinese medicine, practice Body Talk, and a little obsessive about nutrition.
Look forward to meeting you all.

hi there everyone out there with the urge to sew ... would any of you be interested in coming to belmont for a few hours of creative bonding ? i have been trying to get to one of these awesome sounding meetups but without a car and not knowing any of you ive managed to make excuses for myself and have not attended a single one.
I would particularly love a sewing buddy or two or three (or more) - for a project I've tried roping my boyfriend . son , friends and roommate to help me but to no avail ... its a project i cant do alone- making a bodyform ( i've had all the supplies since august! anyway- i would love to have a regular thing at my house if anyone is interested. i have 2 extra basic sewing machines (the cheapy mini machines ) .
My schedule is open basically from 12- 8 thursday thru tuesday and i live off ralston in belmont.

Hi Everyone -
I have found a volunteer to teach us how to make a muslin. I will follow-up with a list of supplies you should bring for this class. There are a couple of things to note:
*Donation: in order to keep Sew Chic Tuesdays free there is no charge for this special event. However, I would suggest that each person make a donation that seems fair to them and is within their means to the instructor. I will not take any funds personally from the group.
*Sessions: making a muslin may take more that one 3 hour session. In the first one we will be pairing up to take our measurements and we will be doing the cutting. You would leave with some homework and return for a second session of sewing and/or fitting and/or re-sewing as time allows.
If the above changes your mind about attending this class please modify your RSVP as soon as possible so that I can get a good count for the class.
Please contact me with questions!
I look forward to seeing you all next week!
