Sewing can be a solitary activity. Though many of us connect via blogs and social media, getting together in person still has a special place.
Bay Area Sewists is a modern-day sewing circle, where we can meet in person and share inspiration and techniques, sew and shop for fabric together, swap patterns and fabric, and much more. The group was founded and organized by Meghan Hunt of Made by Meg in 2012. In January 2014, Chuleenan Svetvilas of C Sews became the group's organizer.
It's free to join Bay Area Sewists for up to six months. But if you want to attend one of our monthly meetups, you need to pay a $5 annual membership fee, which helps cover the fee Meetup charges to use its platform and other organizer expenses. For more info, contact Chuleenan via the Meetup page.
You can also follow Bay Area Sewists on Twitter @BA_Sewists and Facebook for meeting updates and news.
