Sewing can be a solitary activity. Though many people who sew are now connecting via blogs and social media, getting together in person still has a special place.
Bay Area Sewists is a modern-day sewing circle, where people can connect in more personal ways, share inspiration and techniques, shop for fabric together, swap patterns and fabric, and more. The group was founded and organized by Meghan Hunt of Made by Meg in 2012. In 2014, Chuleenan Svetvilas of C Sews became the Bay Area Sewists organizer.
This is a San Francisco Bay Area meetup for all people who want to connect with other people who sew. It is free to join the group for up to six months. If you want to attend one of our monthly meetups, you need to pay the $5 annual membership fee. You can pay via Meetup's WePay system or contact Chuleenan via the Meetup page to pay via PayPal or in person at the meetup you want to attend. We hold pattern and fabric swaps, fitting meetups, and more throughout the year!
You can also follow Bay Area Sewists on Twitter @BA_Sewists and Facebook for meeting updates and news.
