Sewing can be a solitary activity. Though many of us connect via blogs and social media, getting together in person still has a special place.
Bay Area Sewists is a modern-day sewing circle, where we can meet in person and share inspiration and techniques, sew and shop for fabric together, swap patterns and fabric, and much more. The group was founded by Meghan Hunt of Made by Meg in 2012 who was the organizer until the end of 2013. In January 2014, Chuleenan Svetvilas of C Sews became the group's organizer and coordinated more than 30 meeutups since then.
To join Bay Area Sewists, there is a 30-day trial period. After that, you'll need to pay a $5 annual membership fee. The membership fee helps cover the fee Meetup charges to use its platform and other organizer expenses. For more info, contact Chuleenan via the Meetup page.
