Lake Chabot: Slow Pace Paddle & Picnic

Paddle Lake Chabot - out and back. If you're a beginner or new to the group, you won't want to miss this meetup: this place offers a nice paddling experience and a great chance to chat with fellow members. If you don't have a boat, post here or you can rent one there.

***We start paddling at 8am. If you're not in the water, you can easily catch up because we'll be going at a slow-pace. Be there 30 minutes early to unload because you need to wheel your boat to the boat launch as no cars are allowed. Marina offers coffee, if you want to get there even early (open at 6am) and enjoy the peaceful lake.***

Early morning means somewhat easy paddle, but winds can pick up in the late morning. We'll stop for a cove picnic before paddling back. The paddle back is at your own pace, though we'll try to stay together on the paddle in. If time allows, we can regroup for an ice cream cone at the Marina, or you can head out to beat the Labor Day traffic.

Got that exercise that I've been needing to get due to a put-in detour (boat ramp is closed for construction). A nice calm paddle, and a relaxing picnic. Our one-year old was quite a good boy!

Aside from the put-in detour, it was excellent.

A few hundred yards. You can use our wheel, after we're done with it.

Hi! Looking forward to seeing you all. Here's a map of the Lake. We're gonna picnic at the cove across the Lake from Alder Point. That cove doesn't have a name. It's flat and wide open. http://www.ebparks.org/Assets/f.... If you're running late, meet us there. We'll start paddling at 8am. See ya at the cove!

By the way, I can this a picnic, but I bet we'll be eating well before noon, so maybe you'd prefer to bring bagels or donuts. ;)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
