The Bay Area is endowed with sloughs and lagoons. Let's explore them! Lakes, tidal rivers, and some fast-moving waters aren't out of the question either. Enjoy birdwatching and picnicking? You've come to the right group.

Membership is restricted to canoers. There are many meetup groups devoted to kayaks, and we encourage you to explore them. If you don't have a canoe but want to canoe, you have two choices (1) join, then connect with an existing solo member, or (2) purchase a small, used canoe and adopt a kayak paddle so that you can solo paddle (we have one member that does so and she can share all the ins/outs with you).

Most of our trips are on easy waters. Kids are welcome! Heck, bring your dog! However, there is a subculture developing in this groups that's very fast-water friendly.

There's a modest annual membership to help with website costs. Anyone can plan a paddle: just throw it out there.

There is no required skill level to be a member. However, we're all expected to have certain abilities before going out on the water. You are responsible for your safety and your guests! Because meetup times are tied to the tides, for safety reasons meetups must start on time.
