Data Science Stack Showcase

Hi everyone,

We will be hosting our next meetup at Geekdom in SOMA, which is near the Montgomery St. BART station.  Geekdom has sponsored the event space for the evening, thank you Geekdom!

As suggested by a few members at our last event, this meetup will be focused on the tools that we use to do our work as machine learners and data scientists.

It would great if some people could bring their laptops and share their work environment and tools with the group.  You can choose to share/demo your whole stack, or if you want to talk about or demo a particular tool you like using, I have listed some ideas below (these are just suggestions).  Sign up here if you can.  Feel free to come without a laptop as well if you just want to participate in the discussion or learn from your peers.

Update: There will be pizza & salads.

See you soon!

- Vi or Vim
- Emacs or Aquamacs

Hi guys! I'm the host of WABA (Women in Analytics Bay Area). Recently created this Meet-up, and Zynga is hosting our next meet-up on 7/24, focusing on a topic of "What Personalization/Machine Learning can do to your business" You guys want to join us, making this a joint-Women-in-Data Meet-up? :D . Erin - I sent you a message too, love to meet all of you soon! :)

Would love that Tina! We are thinking of five 5minute lightning talks. Would you like to do one? :D. You and/or students to present things you teach or they have learned? My email is [masked]. Let's discuss more! Thank you Tina!

    Great Meetup! Thanks.
I had no slides about the tool I use (KNIME).
You can download it at and check the KNIME Learning Hub for help in learning at

Looking forward to this. If you're interested, Zipfian Academy is hosting a training workshop on Machine Learning for User Growth and Retention. It's next weekend in SF:

How is parking over there? Is it realistic to go there by car? I'll be going from San Ramon, CA.
