Enjoy being outside and working hard. Have hiked the JMT and hope to do it again sometime in the next couple of years!

What's your favorite Bay Area hike?

I haven't hiked much around home, so hope to learn some interesting places through this group. I've enjoyed hiking in Marin and when around home, for a good walk, I go to St. Joseph's Hill in Los Gatos.

Any Bay Area hikes in particular that you'd like to do?

Anything challenging!

    Hi Elizabeth,

I actually booked my trip through a company called Hiking New Zealand (AKA Active Earth) which provides guided hikes. You can find the whole itinerary if you search for their "Secret South" trip, but it includes Fiordland National Park (Routeburn Track to Key Summit; Mt Burns/Hunter Range), Milford Sound (kayaking), Curio Bay, cycling near Alexandra, hiking from Lake Ohau to the Ohau range, Sealy Tarns, and hiking Lake Pukaki to Mt Somers. I've heard Fiordland is a must-see!
