  • Advanced Arduino - advanced I/O, sensors and iPhone interfacing

This is an advanced Arduino workshop that covers advanced Arduino concepts like I2C bus, SPI, one-wire bus, several types of analog and digital sensors that you can interface with and how to interface an Arduino with the iPhone!

Our workshops start with brief introduction of concepts and dives right into hands-on exercises to help the participants grasp the relevant concepts.

We strongly recommend you to attend our essential Arduino workshop before signing up for this one. If you are already quite familiar with the Arduino platform; then you should be good to go.

    Hi Gorav,
I signed-up for the workshop and got a receipt from paypal, but Meetup does not show me on the list of attendees. Can you confirm you know I'm attending?
    Thanks,
    Bill

Hi. Yes your payment went through but unfortunately I have an emergency today and I will have to cancel this meetup.

    Hi Gorav,
Sorry, but I can't attend the 21st workshop. Could you please refund my payment?
    Thank you.

  • Omar U. F.

Hi Gorav, can you please check if the payment went through? I got this message: "Sorry PayPal is taking a really long time getting back to us. Please don't submit another payment until you check back later to see if this one went through"

Gorav, I would like attend this Saturday's class if it's on. BTW, I already sent a payment for the cancelled session a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how to say "Yes" to this time's.

I will attend this Saturday's class. Same question applies - not sure how to say "Yes" to this, since I already sent a payment. But I do plan to come. Looking forward to it!

    • Roger H.

Just confirm, I am able to make the 6/21 class, if it's still on. Looking forward to it!

Hi Gorav, I might be able to make the new date (21Jun). I will commit as soon as I know for sure.

Hi Gorav, sorry, but I can't make the tomorrow workshop. Would you refund my payment?

    June 13

    • Gorav T.

Kenji, I am tied with several things and have moved the meetup to next week. If you still want the refund let me know. Thanks, Gorav

Hi Gorav, I attended the essentials of Arduino workshop before, so do I still need to pay $40 for this one? I already have the hardware.

    May 13

    • Gorav T.

Yes you do. You'd get a sensor pack for this workshop.

Gorav, when might the next advanced Arduino be?

    This weekend is Maker Faire.

    May 12

    • Gorav T.

I am planning to move this to another week because of Maker Faire.

      May 15

  • Kenji

Gorav, I can't make it on May 17th because of attending Maker Faire! Please change my RSVP into "No" while keeping my payment for the Advanced coming in the future.

    May 1

  • Kenji

Gorav, is it sure that the Advanced class is held on this Saturday? Seven participants look enough for you to give it. I'm fixing my schedule.

    May 1

    • Gorav T.

Kenji, First of all thanks for attending the Essential Arduino Workshop. I am afraid i would have to re-schedule it. It's not about the number, it's more that i am tied up with personal things at the moment. But i promise to make it a great workshop like our other workshops.

      May 1

    • Kenji

Oh, I see. If you have to re-schedule it, please let us as soon as possible.

    Hi Gorav,

I was able to pay the payment but wasn't able to RSVP as the link expired. Kindly ensure that u count me in for the workshop

    April 14

    • Gorav T.

Will do. Meetup system is kinda broken and doesn't RSVP automatically on payment.

Gorav, I appreciate your response, and the refund. The issue with this is that the refund policy stated by Meetup said there was no refunds. I understand this is needed to get a commitment from participants and that they won't bail out at the last minute. My problem was that this meetup was moved repeatedly and that it was destined to be moved to a date I couldn't make even though I was willing to come the previous 6 times. That made the stated refund policy a trap for the customer. Again, I appreciate your resolution of this problem.

    April 4

  • CraigH

This is unbelievable! Your are moving the meetup again, less than 24 hours away. And you are moving it to Easter weekend? You obviously do not respect the people that paid you already in good faith.
Because I already have a commitment that day with a group of people that respect other people's schedule, I DEMAND you refund my $40 via Pay Pal. I am posting this to the site so everyone knows they are risking their money by signing up with this meetup.

    April 4

    • Gorav T.

Craig, neither you or anyone else are risking any money. The reason I am forced to reschedule is because of lack of participation. I apologize for the last minute reschedule. I will refund your $49 right away. I hope to make these workshops successful and enriching for everyone. However, I have no control over the lack of participation. I hope more folks can sign up in the future and make these workshops successful like the previous ones. Best of luck!

      April 4

    • Gorav T.

Your refund of $40 has been done. Just want to make this clear to all my fellow makers that these workshops are meant to give you a rich learning experience in a collaborate way and there is no way as an organizer and coach I would let any of you lose your money paid for the workshops. I want to make sure you are satisfied completely with what you paid for. I sincerely hope that we can have more folks joining our future workshops. All the best!

Gorav, did you get my payment and RSVP for the 4/5 event?

    April 4

  • CraigH

I realize you have issues with needing to get a critical mass of participants, but I paid my money back in December and have been asked to change my plans about 5 or 6 times. I'm still up for doing this on March 1st, but any further delay indicates a refund may be in order. Honestly, I would really like to have this meetup work, but it is hard to convince others to take a $40 gamble.
Thanks, Looking forward to March 1st

      Gorav,

As I said earlier, I could have joined this meetup but I feel it needs to be little longer, at least by an hour to cover the material, Q&A, and hands-on exercises. Last class (introductory one) felt like we had to rush through and I thought 2 hours wasn't enough.

      Best.

Is this still happening? Perhaps we can find a smaller venue that can justify a smaller class ?

Wish enough people would sign up, my arduino board's getting dusty hehehe

Edmund, I honestly hope so too. If we cannot have at least 12 folks i will push the date to a future saturday. I hope more people participate as i plan to teach how to interface all kinds of sensors in this workshop

Gorav, I've written you twice by email and on the Essential Workshop event page itself. My nephew and I are interested in the Essential Workshop. What are your thoughts about that Essential workshop happening? Would appreciate a reply as I'm interested in having my nephew get introduced to this idea.

I signed up, paid PayPay for 2, but the RSVP is not showing up on the Essential Workshop meet up. Also left a message there but haven't heard back. . . trying here again to get a response. The payment went through. So you now have 3 people for Feb 1 Essential.

      January 19, 2014

    • Gorav T.

Meetup system does not show RSVP when the payment is made. Don't know why. I have manually added you to RSVP list. Can't add guest as the setting is turned. But don't worry you are both in.

      January 19, 2014

  • Gorav T.

I had to change the date again since i don't see a lot of folks signing up for this workshop. I would need at least 10 attendees to reserve the venue. Please RSVP and make this workshop a success just like the last one!

I really want to attend this, but the date is near holidays. Thoughts on moving it to another date?

    November 16, 2013

Garrett, Date has been changed to January 18, 2014. Please RSVP soon so that i can order your sensor kits.

Where will this occur? A friend and I would like to attend.

    December 26, 2013

    • Gorav T.

This will be most likely at our last venue near Belmont on El Camino Real. If the venue changes we still keep our workshops in the peninsula. Please RSVP soon so that i can order your sensor kits.

By popular demand i am moving the date to the first Saturday of next year!

Thanks for changing the date. Sadly I won't be able to make it due to CES activities. I hope the event goes well.

      November 20, 2013

    • Gorav T.

I changed the date to January 11th. That should work for everyone now :)
