Petaluma-Tomales loop, 48 mile road ride

A nice ride out Chileno Valley Rd to Valley Ford to Tomales and back to Petaluma.  Fine rolling hills on Chileno Valley, awesome downhill on Dillon Beach Road into Tomales.  Deli and bakery in Tomales.

Start: Wickersham Park, corner of 4th St and G St, Petaluma.   Plenty of street parking next to the park. Bathrooms at gas station 1 block away.

48 mile loop

Climb: 2700 feet total gain
Pace will be 14-16 mph on flats, slower on climbs.

Cue sheets will be provided.  Road bikes are most appropriate for this ride.  Helmets required.

Time: meet at 10:00 am, roll soon afterwards.  If you arrive late, look for cue sheets on the Ford Escape.

Carpool: I have room for one person.  Departing from Outer Richmond neighborhood of SF, send me an email if you need a ride and can get yourself to the Geary Blvd/Park Presidio area.

NOTE: If you departing or passing through San Francisco, be aware of street closures due to Bay to Breakers:

Also, there will be lane closures on the Golden Gate bridge due to the Amgen tour, so there may be delays there.  In normal traffic, allow 40 minutes from GG Bridge to Petaluma.

Great to meet you, Chris and Malcolm. Headwinds made me feel slow on the first half, then we turned around and all was good. Perfect weather.

Super maybe. I can't tell if I can yet, but I may want to snag that spot in the car if no one takes it before I make up my indecisive mind. I did a ride last Saturday, Paradise Loop, and, dang it, I think I'm still sore from it. Plus, isn't Sunday going to be crazy to cross the Bridge because of all the events?
