Around the Bay in One Day

Celebrate Bastille Day with a truly epic bike ride - all the way around San Francisco Bay - in one day!

This route is tested! We rode this on Dec 28, 2012 and nothing went wrong. Very scenic - lots of SF Bay views.

This route shows a San Jose start and end - but you can start wherever you want! I'm starting at my apartment! We'll stop and pick up riders at the following locations:

San Jose Caltrain Station: 5:15 am

Lytton Plaza, Palo Alto: 6:45 am

Ferry Building, San Francisco: 9:45 am

Lake Merritt Columns (Grand & Lakeshore): around 5 or 6 pm

We'll stop at Front Room at the Wharf (295 Mare Island Way, Vallejo) for lunch.

San Jose. Palo Alto. San Francisco. Marin. Vallejo. Oakland. Alameda. All this and more - free of charge - no public transit!

This is a long ride - be prepared. Bring lights, tools to fix flats, and plenty of food and water. Expect to cruise at a pace of about 15 mph on flats.

Andrew, I'm interested, but would like to know more about the route. Is there support of any kind? And what qualifies as "slow riding"? :)

The first riders will start in San Jose at 5:15 am. We'll pick up more riders in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Oakland at the posted times. Route:. We hope to cruise at about 15 mph on flat terrain.

Yeah this brief description is kinda weird. What's the route? Average anticipated speed so one knows what "slow" is? Planned stops? How long do you think it will take?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
