Full Moon Werewolf Ride

The wolves haven’t been out since July’s Alviso Loop Ride – it’s time to RIDE! We'll ride under the light of the full moon - plenty to go without bike lights on the dark isolated trails along San Francisco Bay!

The clockwise loop route includes some great dark paths in Mountain View and Palo Alto, as well as a visits to Stanford and Google. Bike lights go out when we reach the Bay Trail in Palo Alto’s Baylands.

Meet at the Mountain View Caltrain Station at 8:00 pm this Thursday, October 17. Pace is no rider left behind. All bikes welcome. Route includes some dirt, but it's smooth. I've done it on road bikes several times.

I highly recommended using lights when bicycling at night, even in a group. But no, you don't "need" them - your bicycle will still function without lights.

We will probably cruise at about 15 mph assuming flat, smooth pavement with no wind. Around 12 mph on the dirt sections.
