My sincere apologies for not being able to make it, nor being able to cancel appropriately. I got sick Friday night and didn't shake whatever it was until this Monday AM. I really wish I could have ridden with you guys, it seemed like a fun ride. Perhaps next time! If someone can re-hash/detail the route, I would love to do the route solo!

Frank. Way down below near the bottom is a route map link posted by Mike. Have a good ride.

Huge kudos also to the invaluable sweepers! I met Mike, and know there were at least 1, maybe 2, others helping Peter. Without you guys, I'm sure I woulda missed critical turns and S.O.S'd here in Comments ;-P

Thanks for organizing the ride! I may take the cal train back to the city, so if anyone else wants to join that is an easy bail out option. Which I may or may not take. :)

PS, if there are any other Thanksgiving orphans out there, or you have no where to be until the afternoon... You should come on the Paradise loop ride. I plan on biking from home. We could meet at GG Bridge ... Leaving there no later than 7:30am... to be sure to catch the ride start at Mikes Bikes in Sausalito at 8:30am

Hi Peter, Since I live in SanBruno, I'm thinking to join the group at the head of the SanAndreas trail (cross: SanBrunoAve). What time would you estimate the group gets here?

    November 13, 2013

    • Christopher L.

If I can wake up earlier I don't mind meeting you guys at the beginning of San Andreas Trail. I plan on meeting the group at John Daly and Skyline.

    November 15, 2013

  • Christopher L.

Hey Peter, What time do you suspect you will be at the intersection of John Daly Blvd and SKyline 35? It is a little past 5 miles from your start location.

    November 14, 2013

    • Peter

I am really unsure. My guess may be 8:30-8:45am? Unlike going over the bridge to Marin, we don't ride this way very much.

      November 14, 2013

    • Christopher L.

Ok I will join the group at the intersection. I will be there at 8:30ish. I have yellow EY Cycling shorts and a a back and orange orbea. If someone in the group can keep me updated it would be great if not I will figure it out. [masked]

      November 14, 2013

  • Joe K

Change of plans; hope to join another time.

    November 14, 2013

  • Peter

By the way, if you do plan to join at the starting point, please be there before 8 and ready to ride by 8am. We will aim to leave on time since we will be short of daylight.

    November 14, 2013

  • JohnIG

Have to bail out on this one now, since I have to be back early

    November 14, 2013

  • Wilson Y.

Hi Peter, I will be joining you guys from San Bruno, instead of the starting point at GGP, with Greg and Joey.

    November 14, 2013

    • Peter

      Ok Wilson.

      November 14, 2013

  • brian

Hey Peter, If I don't roll with Jen, MRA or Ken and The ALC. I might join you to break in the new ride ; )

    November 14, 2013

    • Peter

      Ok Brian.

      November 14, 2013

  • Peter

Hello all, 80 miles is kind of long for this time late in the year. Be sure to bring some lights (front/rear) and spare tube with you just in case. If anyone has done the bay trail from Stanford to SF, please let me know. Also if you don't think you will come, kindly update your RSVP. thanks.

    November 13, 2013

    • Mike

FYI it took me a little over 7 hours to complete, so I'm thinking with this large group, it will take at least 8 or 9 hours? Anything over 9 hours will put this ride into dusk. Which means lights might be needed.

      November 14, 2013

    • Peter

We will be flexible on this trip. Should be a fun day out riding.

    November 12, 2013

    • Peter

Don't mind at all. See you Joi.

This sounds like fun but I'm in the process of purchasing a bike. Can someone recommend a good shop in San Jose and should I consider a road, mountain or dual purpose bike? I haven't ridden in years but use to do metric centuries many years ago.

I'm joining this unless something comes up. This will be my first one to join with Bay Area Cycling. I like the pace, scenery, and distance. Where is best place to park in the morning?

    October 20, 2013

    • Peter

Welcome then. We have many people posting rides here. My rides are for slower folks. You can park anywhere in the park and just ride over to the meeting point. There should be plenty since we meet early.

Thanks Peter. Since I'm not familiar with the route and this is my first 80 mile ride, I don't mind the slow pace.

      October 20, 2013

  • eva

Another maybe for me. I like the slow pace though!! If any of you want to train for this ride or get ideas, you can join sf2g (San Francisco to Google) on google groups as they do this ride to the south bay with some variations or just log on to their website to check out the routes.

    October 19, 2013

      Hope to see you Eva.

      October 20, 2013
