This is a ride for slower riders to Stinson Beach from SF. The path will be SF -> Mill Valley -> 4 Corners -> Pantoll -> Stinson Beach (Lunch) -> Hwy1 -> Muirbeach -> Hwy 1 (up/down) -> Mill Valley -> SF. Pace is a recreational/non-hammering/non-PR seeking with avg of about 12 mph for the entire ride. With that said, if you are fast, feel free to seek out other fast riders and hammer back after lunch.

Difficulty: Strenuous - A fair amount of distance with several extended climbs, a series of short steep pitches and some potentially fast, technical descents. Some experience with longer rides recommended.

Miles: about 45 (to 50).

This is a similar to the ride we did in the past, but in reverse direction:

Thank you all very much for a great ride. It was my most challenging ride ever, not to mention my first group ride. Thanks for being patient with me and I look forward to future rides with you all.

With the bike you were riding? oh my, very impressive you did those hills.

Very impressive indeed! I know what it takes to keep a hybrid in motion on climbs like that. Let me know when you want to do some off roading sometime : )

Today's ride is "just" right in many ways. I see this as a repeatable ride.

That was an awesome route... and quite a tough ride! I had a lot of fun though, great meeting everyone. Peter, thanks for setting it up!

Hey Arjun. Thanks for joining. You didn't seem to struggle one bit. I think you kept up with the fast group.

Aki was the fast group. I couldn't really keep up with his followers, but this was my biggest ride in a long time. Learned once again that I need to be more mindful of staving off cramping.

Something came up and I can't take time for that long of a ride today. I'll have to do a shorter one on my own. Have fun!

See everyone tomorrow 8:30AM. If you miss the group, then head to the cafe depot in Mill Valley. We will be there for about 15 min. Should be a nice day.

I am with you Janelle. Not a good climber. I think my speed will be about 4-6 mph.

"Advanced Beginner-internediate" is a very ambiguous rating :D

Also, since this seems to climb Mount Tam it should have no "beginner" anywhere in there.

    • Peter

Thanks Maic. I have updated the description.

    November 19, 2013

    • Peter

My estimate is about 6 hrs. depending on how long we take for lunch in Stinson Beach.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
