We had a great core group, Ryan, Emily, Fletcher, David, Roel, Jeff, Lillie, Ricardo, and me complete the hilly loop ogling the Belvedere mansions and views. For anyone who stayed behind and for those who went ahead, hope you had an enjoyable ride!

This is weird. It's winter and I would have thought the short days and
cold weather would have kept most people indoors drinking beer and
    watching hockey as I would.

Wish I could ride with you but I'm not that fast.

Hi Franny, this will be a quite large group. Will you consider to split it into faster A and relative slower B group? I can see some strong riders there. It is not fun that they wait too long and the body gets cool down easily in this weather. If two groups, it would be nice for everyone to know who are leaders for A and B. It will be easy for riders to follow.

Lilllie, I am just an organizer and given the info. and the latest e-mail, I am hoping cyclists will self select. I do not have a volunteer for a slower group. You could be the volunteer. I clearly set out the guidelines. Thanks for your comment, though.

Sounds good to me. I just follow you then :)

Cyclists, PLEASE read the latest e-mail I am sending out for tomorrow's ride. We could have 30-40 cyclists and I do not want anyone to be disappointed. If it does not sound right for you, please update your RSVP. Thanks! My philosophy is not to exclude anyone from joining and there are often last minute cancellations.

You know that sometimes you have to be "cruel to be kind?" This is a very scenic ride and Belvedere is a gem, however, please be aware of the following "unpleasant" portions where you must take caution: 1) Narrow single lane tunnel to Alexander Dr.-keep far right and use bike lights
    2) Busy E. Blithedale/Tiburon Blvd. which crosses two freeways but is the most direct route to lovely Paradise Drive. On the way back we have a shorter portion to ride of this busy Blvd. It's worth it! That's it~see you Sunday!

I will give out the rest stops at the start of the ride, but here they are:

    1) Top of Conzelman before drastic (steep) but scenic descent (portapotty there) Try to use the restroom at the GG Visitor's Center before the ride!

I am cruising STRAIGHT THROUGH Sausalito to Tiburon, but if you must use a restroom in Sausalito or stop for a snack, there are many options, Starbucks and Venice Pizza/Deli being two.

    2) In Tiburon, we will have our 30 +/- min. lunch stop at Caffe Acri, downtown.

    3) On the return, we can stop at Venice Deli in downtown Sausalito.

I'm going straight up Alexander on the return, but feel free to break away to the "curvy ascent."

Hi Cyclists- I scouted out our route for Sunday, today. As this will be a rather large group, and it's hard to give out pointers at the start of the ride, please note the following and opt out if it doesn't seem suitable.

This is definitely an advanced intermediate ride with a big hill at the start, possible headwinds, rollers and more climbs, and I'm only going stop 3 times to keep our legs warmed up and moving. We will not be able to wait at all the lights for catch up on the straightaway to the right on E. Blithedale Ave., so please be familiar with the map and bring your phone GPS.
