Petaluma-Tomales loop, 48/42 mile road ride

A nice ride out Chileno Valley Rd to Valley Ford to Tomales and back to Petaluma.  Fine rolling hills on Chileno Valley, awesome downhill on Dillon Beach Road into Tomales.  Deli and bakery in Tomales.  We may run into Peter's group along the way.

Start: Wickersham Park, corner of 4th St and G St, Petaluma.   Plenty of street parking next to the park. Bathrooms at gas station 1 block away.

48 mile route

Climb: 2700 feet total gain

Pace will be 13-15 mph on flats, slower on climbs.

You also have a 42 mile option that goes directly to Tomales and back.  This cuts about 400 ft of climbing.

Cue sheets will be provided.  Road bikes are most appropriate for this ride.  Helmets required. This is *not* a no-drop ride.  You should be self-sufficient in case you become separated from the group.

Time: meet at 10:00 am, roll soon afterwards.  If you arrive late, look for cue sheets on the Mazda3.

How is everyone getting there? I do have a truck that I could throw 3 or 4 bikes in the back. I'm in downtown Oakland.

Hmmmm, I'm a slow climber, but don't want to get dropped on the hills. I guess I'll stick with Peters group.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
