Bay Area Cycling Second Saturday Club Ride

The BAC Club Ride! A chance for BAC Club members that have been riding regularly to ride together. This is not a Beginner’s ride, this is not a hammerfest, it’s a Group ride for experienced cyclists. Meet up at the Presidio Sports Basement on Saturday at 9:30am. We’ll ride to Fairfax in a casual group pace (~18mph), where we’ll briefly (YMMV) stop for water and coffee then riders can split up to do various routes with riders similar to them, paces will vary from casual to spirited. Routes from the water stop can include:

- returning to SF (~50 miles) maybe stay in Fairfax for lunch before heading home
- Alpine Dam (~60)
- Nicasio (~70?)
- Pt Reyes (~80)
- Lucas Valley (~75 miles)
- China Camp (~75-100)
- Petaluma (~90)
- Stinson (varies)
- Tam summit (~70)
- Marshall (~90)
etc, most of us know the routes.
Road bikes only. Bring the usual, a tube, pump, water, money, sunscreen, a multi-tool etc.

I'd be down for Alpine Dam or Pt Reyes but will ride to what the group wants.

Meet at the picnic benches furthest from the bay front. Sports Basement is fin with people using the two rows of parking nearest the Bay in the spirit of people parking there buying things pre or post ride. You'll also have a road bike with you, park further away and roll to the start. I believe Paul arranged a 10% discount for us, details TBD.

I do plan on doing this ride every second Saturday, all year 'round, same time, same place, same format. If you can't make it this week, post and I'll know to look for you in August.

I am down for 9:30. If we leave at 10 I know of 6 more people riding paradise and comino Alto.

Mark - I feel ya, I've never met someone less of a morning person than I am. for sanity's sake I'd like to keep it 9:30 this time around. if the group prefers a 10am start then I'll change it. generally with my 60-80 mile Sat rides when I leave at 9:30 I get home around 3-5pm, just in time to wash up and hit the cheeseburger stand. great to have you on the ride!
