What we’re about

For people looking to meet other local cyclists for rides all around the greater San Francisco Bay Area, explore new trails, share training tips, etc.

Please be advised that cycling is a dangerous sport and you are solely responsible for your own safety. Spandex is not armor, helmets are mandatory and other protective gear is strongly recommended.

Our rating system:

Beginner - 5-15 mile rides led by experienced cyclists who are able to offer instruction. Each ride begins with an equipment check and basic instruction on using brakes and gears. The ride typically includes two or three instructional stops, as well as visits to scenic or cultural highlights, and sometimes we will stop at a cafe. Duration 2-3 hours.

Easy - 15-30 miles. Average rolling speed 8-12 mph. A social event on bikes. Frequent stops for photographs, scenery or to wait for the group to come back together. Often includes a visit to a cafe. Very good for riders who are comfortable with the basics of bike control and are looking to go farther afield. Duration 2-3 hours.

Recreational - 20-40 miles. Average rolling speed. 10-13 mph. For riders who enjoy bowling along a leisurely pace and having a good conversation while on the move. Why hurry? We're here to have an enjoyable ride! Stops to regroup at the top of climbs and elsewhere if the group has broken up. Cafe stop? You bet! Duration 2-4 hours

Sporting - 30-80 miles. Average rolling speed: 14-17 mph. For riders who are looking to extend their limits and experience. Should be riding at least three times a week and be capable of extended periods of high intensity exercise. Riders will learn how to ride in echelon and other close-formation skills. The first riders to the hilltop wait until all riders are up. Duration 2.5-6 hours

Advanced - distance varies. The pace will be high. For advanced riders with good group riding skills. Must be riders in training for a tough event, or otherwise excellent cyclists capable of riding with the most advanced group rides such as Roasters, House of Pain, etc. The group doesn't stop for those that get dropped.

Dinner - A Sporting or Recreational ride that ends at a restaurant. We will reserve a large table. Bring change of clothes for dinner (late lunch).
