Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Cycling (Mountain & Road)!

What: Road Bike ride from SF to the Marin Headlines and back

When: January 10,[masked]:00 AM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: Edit: I am reposting the ride we could not do on Dec 14th because of weather, so here it goes again:

Description: A great and challenging ride awaits us Saturday Jan 10th at 9 am!

We'll start at the Sports Basement parking lot in Crissy fields, San Francisco (there is plenty of parking). From here, we'll cross the Golden Gate Bridge on our way to Olema, passing through Sausalito, Muir and Stinson Beaches, on highway 1. Once we get to Olema, we will turn inland, riding on some reclaimed rail road through Samuel P. Taylor park, then passing several picturesque towns, on our way back to Sausalito, and eventually the GG bridge and finally SF.
This ride features beautiful coastal scenery, forest back roads, and several quaint towns.

Level: This ride is for intermediate/advanced riders who are used to endurance rides of more than 50 miles, at a good pace. Nobody will be dropped, but you must be aware of your limitations. If you have not ever done a long ride, we'll post some more mellow ones in the near future. Bring plenty of fluids, and energy bars.

Total mileage: 67.83 miles
Total ascent:3264 ft
Total descent: 3264 ft
Min. elevation: 23 ft
Max elevation: 689 ft
Max grade precentage: 7%

Other thoughts: Rain cancels. Dress up in layers, since the mornings are cold and the descents are fast. The total ride time may vary, but allow at least 6 hours of your precious time for it.
