Lunch & Cupcakes at Sweet Bar Bakery in Oakland

Sweet Bar Bakery - has anything sounded so sinfully sweet? Fellow foodie & world traveler, Faith, discovered this local gem in Uptown, Oakland's revitalized downtown neighborhood. Mani Niall, chef to the Hollywood Superstars, has invited us to explore his new bakery located in the historic MacFarlane’s Candy & Ice Cream building at 24th and Broadway. How fitting!

We'll have lunch followed by cupcakes. Sweet Bar offers a variety of lunch items:

  • soups & salads
  • flatbreads & sandwiches
  • beer, wine & coffee

Then on to the main event: Cupcakes! We'll explore four different flavors:

  • raspberry filled chocolate fudge
  • dark chocolate almond brittle
  • pumpkin ginger cheesecake
  • chocolate dipped peanut butter

Sweet Bar is mere blocks away from the 19th Street BART station. Consult for specific directions & train schedules.

This event is being cross-listed with The Bay Cupcake Meetup. Guest list opens there on March 2nd, then here on March 9th.

Seriously delicious lunch food (I shared the pulled pork sammy & chix salad with Wendy). The cupcakes weren't bad, but my fave was the chocolate peanut butter. I'll be back for that bad boy alone. Mina was very kind to give us all gift cards for our next visit. Classy all the way around.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
