Spice, Spice Baby @ Red Hot Chilli Pepper (San Carlos)

OK, let's face it: you already know whether or not you want to eat here just by the name alone. Red Hot Chilli Pepper serves up really great Indo-Chinese food* in a nice setting. This place is for all you Spice Girls... and Boys.

There are plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian choices. We'll be sharing a variety of dishes. Some options include firecracker beef, egg-wrapped fried rice, pan-fried chili tofu, fish in lemon cilantro sauce, crispy lotus stems, and much, much more.

* Just what is Indo-Chinese food? Well, you probably know that, outside of the Bay Area at least, most Chinese food in the U.S. is really more of an American interpretation of Chinese food. Plenty of people in India also enjoy Chinese food, but... you guessed it, it's an Indian interpretation of Chinese. Now you know what Indo-Chinese food is. Chinese food filtered through an Indian sensibility.

Good stuff! We were too busy eating and having fun conversations to take pictures, but everyone enjoyed the food. I won't name names, but someone had to order some emergency ice cream to cool their mouth down. ;-) It was great to see everyone; thanks for coming.

Now, we can (and will) get some non-spicy items, but in case you didn't already notice, they have a couple of dishes where you have to sign a waiver first, due to the intensity. :-)

There's an open spot, so take it if you'd like. Just RSVP "yes" again, and you'll be able to add a guest.
