Black Sea Dance Workshop

Learn and have fun with folk dances from the Black Sea region of Turkey with the amazing performer and instructor, Aycan Yeter, from Turkey!

Aycan Yeter is one of best known tulum musicians in Turkey. Born in Istanbul, he was raised in a Laz family from the North Eastern shores of the Black Sea, Turkey. He graduated from University of Eskişehir with a business major. At a young age, Aycan started music with drums and continued his studies with the tulum. Aycan took classes from the well known tulum virtuoso Selim Bolukbasi and has also been teaching Laz-Horon dances. He has assumed the role of tulum player in films and TV and has played for many ethnic singers and dance groups. He also has a collection of folk songs, which are his own compositions.

Dates: February 3 and 17, 2013
Workshop fee: $25 (or $18 each if you attend both workshops on the 3rd and 17th)
