We're hoping to form a group of fun Jewish people in their 20s through early 40s who are interested in meeting other Jewish people the tri-valley or 680 corridor of the East Bay. Many if us don't live near our families or for other reasons want to connect with other Jews. We plan to have social and cultural events that are clearly centered on Judaism -- Shabbat dinners, holiday events like making Hamentashen for Purim, breaking the Yom Kippur fast, and a Chanukah party. But we'd also like to do things together that we just like -- volunteering, game nights, hiking, wine tasting and really, whatever any member wants to propose and even lead. As of now, this group is not affiliated with any synagogue or movement (Orthodox, reform or conservative). We intend to provide an open and welcoming environment for all individuals regardless of gender, race, religion, marital status and sexual preference, so long as you're interested in doing Jewish things and hanging out with Jews. For our first event, we'd like to just get together and meet each other, hear what you're looking for and ideally plan some other fun events soon!
Even if you can't make this first event, please respond if you live in the area and are interested in participating, and share any ideas or questions you may have!
Happy Hour (drink specials) at 5:30, dinner at 6 pm. Please RSVP so we know who to look for and how many seats for dinner.
