TKEYA Fall Foliage Hike (11/18)
Fall colors in the Bay Area? No kidding! Come with us to Monte Bello Open Space Preserve, home of rolling grasslands and lush Stevens Creek, where a subdued yet delightful show of foliage. (This being an inherently seasonal event, we make no guarantees about the exact timing.) We will also engage in some simple practices to heighten our nature awareness.
Sunday, Nov. 18, 10 am to 3 pm
Location: Monte Bello main parking lot on Page Mill Road. (This is the large parking lot in the open grassy area.) We will carpool to the trailhead from the park & ride lot at Page Mill and Arastradero, in Palo Alto. Cars will leave at 10:30 sharp -- be there or be square! It's about a half-hour drive up Page Mill Road to the park.
Wear layers and comfortable shoes. The trail will be muddy in places. A hat and extra jacket are always good to have on hand, especially at this time of year. Bring a bottle of water and trail snacks.
Inclement weather: Fog only heightens the wilderness experience! In the event of rain, we'll have brunch at Izzy's Bagels in East Palo Alto instead. (Hike leader's discretion; watch for an email Saturday night.)
