Build a Responsive and Fast REST client in an hour with Yigit Boyar

Yigit Boyar from Path will build a better REST client for us!

People use applications under poor network conditions which often result in frustrating error dialogs. Path recently open sourced their Job Manager to help you maximize user experience and network utilization.

Join us for a session led by Yigit Boyar, Android Engineering Manager @ Path, who will develop a responsive & fast REST client on Android. The session will be focused on utilizing open source technologies to prepare a resilient application architecture. The goal is to provide a good user experience without sacrificing code quality. A small sub-session will also be held to improve UI performance using custom view groups.

Bring your laptops, code along and ask questions!

Yigit is going to use the following technologies:

Job Manager for task management -

Dagger for dependency injection -

EventBus for inter component communication -

GreenDAO or ORMLite for persistence - /

About Yigit: I have been developing Rich Internet Applications since 2005 and have been working on Android for the last 3 years. Currently I work @ Path as Android Engineering Manager and previously @ SpeedDate as Mobile Team Lead.

Big thanks to StartApp for providing pizza and beer, and to Stream Nation for providing the venue!

Quick Question from Yigit Boyar - Hi everybody, quick question. Do you prefer to spend more time on architecting the app or writing efficient views (not talking about simple flattening stuff).
Depending on this, I want to ensure I have good content so that we can all enjoy the event and learn from each other.
