Bay Area Snow Sports Council (BAC) www.skibac.org is a nonprofit, volunteer-run association of more than 30 snow sports clubs founded in 1947 covering the entire Bay Area from Monterey up to Napa and out to the Sierra Foothills.
There is no cost to join the BAC Meetup group but we would like to encourage you to consider becoming a member of one of our snow sports clubs if you are not already benefitting from the value that they provide to their members.

* Bay Area Snow Sports Council is an all volunteer organization of skiers and snowboarders.
* Inexpensive Lodging – If you join one of our clubs that has a lodge, you can stay very inexpensively with most clubs ranging anywhere from $10-$60/night. Instead of paying $100-$200 night at a hotel, you can save yourself a lot of money by staying at your club lodge. We also have discounts at hotels if you do not want to stay in a lodge.
* Racing – BAC has 11 different levels of downhill ski racing ranging from level 10 for someone who is snowplowing / green level to level 0 expert/black level. BAC also has 3 levels of snowboard racing ranging from soft boots to hard boots.
* Travel – If you are interested in travel BAC participates in fun North American and International ski trips every year. The North American trips this year are to Sun Valley, ID; Aspen, CO plus other locations to be announced and in prior years: Whistler, Canada; Big Sky, MT, Park City, UT; Jackson Hole, WY. Upcoming international trips include: Engelbererg & Interlaken, Switzerland; Ski Bansko & Sofia Bulgaria; Bucharest, Romania; Queenstown & Wanaka, New Zealand; Sydney & Cairns, Australia; Rarotonga, Cook Islands and in prior years: Bad Gastein, Austria; Les Trois Vallees, France; Bormio, Cortina, Italy; Zermatt, Switzerland; and Nagano, Japan. We also travel during the summer/fall as well for non-ski trips. We traveled to Cozumel, Mexico for a dive trip in September and to Canada/New England for a cruise this fall and are going to Buenos Aires, Argentina for New Year's Eve and then onto Antarctica for a cruise. Past summer/fall trip locations have included an African safari, Galapagos Islands, Machu Picchu, Thailand, China, Ireland, Cancun, diving in Costa Rica and cruises in Scandinavia/Russia, Alaska, Hawaii, and Panama Canal. If you belong to any of our clubs, you can participate in any of these fun trips at very affordable rates because of the buying power of automatically belonging to 3 bigger organizations (BAC, FWSA. NSCF).
* Lift Ticket Discounts – BAC lift ticket discounts range from 15-33% ($10-$20) per ticket at most of Lake Tahoe resorts & you can return unused tickets from most resorts for credit towards next year's order.
* Products/Services Discounts – BAC has discounts with Hertz if you want to rent in North America or Europe. We have discounts up to 43% at various lodging properties across North America. You can save up to 50% off ski/snowboard rentals up at Tahoe rental shops. Save on skiing equipment and snowboarding equipment at a variety of retailers. Discounts up to 85% off by presenting your FWSA membership card at more than 55 businesses. There is a complete benefit list on the www.skibac.org website.
* Activities - Visit www.skibac.org and select Hot Sheet to see list of upcoming events and travel. Also visit individual club websites to see additional club level events.
* Most of our clubs are year-round activity clubs. In the summer we hike, bike, climb, rollerblade, sail, waterski, wakeboard, golf and/or play tennis. Each club does different activities so check out each club’s website and go to a few different clubs’ meetings.
* Annual dues for many of the clubs range from $50-$80/year.
* Community service. BAC and its club members donate time and money to a variety of organizations. One of the primary beneficiaries is Disabled Sports USA Far West www.disabledsports.net which provides affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence for people with disabilities including severely injured veterans such as the Wounded Warriors.
