We've decided to tryout a project that will integrate the Microbiome & 23andMe API project all into one. For this project, we will primarily use Python, but everyone is welcome to give suggestions on alternatives.
We will continue train with Rosalind and make it a hands-on based Bioinformatics seminar. Rosalind is a platform for learning bioinformatics through problem solving. Brett and I will go over some of the Rosalind exercises, and we'll see where everyone is at with their python coding and other talents & skills folks have. This training will take place for about a month or so, and then we will ease into more project-specific goals.
Please bring your laptops.
My programming skills are pretty rusty but hopefully I'll still be able to follow along & maybe learn something! I'll be coming from SF if anyone wants to carpool.

Hello,
I would be very interested to be a part of this project. I am very comfortable coding in Python, but I am afraid I wouldn't be able to be physically present for the meets/discussions. I can definitely interact through mails and contribute and am interested to know more. If that's not a concern, please reach out to me.
Thanks

Hi there! I am always interested in what you are doing and very interested in this but I am a non-driver living in San Francisco and the South Bay area is hard to get to. Is there anyone from SF going to this? I would consider going, or learning remotely. I have studied Python and am very interested in learning more about this area.
