You don't want backbone, you want AngularJS :)

There's Hack Reactor, but they are $20k and in SF.

Besides that I'm not aware of any. Udemy.com is pretty good for video instruction.

I would suggest javascript basics, then go straight into jQuery and Backbone. Node.js isn't much different, once you are familiar with callbacks than basic javascript or jQuery/ajax programming.

Hello,

Are there any recommendations for Javascript based web development training in the Bay Area? I am specifically looking for something in the South Bay and would like to avoid travel to San Francisco if it is for extended periods. If it is for short duration 1-2 week course then I could consider.

I have programmed in Java and J2EE technologies and would like to get updated on modern Javascript based development techniques.

I am not sure if the progression should be

Javascript --> Jquery --> Backbone? --> Node.js?

Is there one training course that rules them all?

I have already seen several bootcamp websites(8-12 week) and am also aware of Codeacademy/Code School but I prefer 1 on 1 instruction and learn better with classroom interaction.

Are there any suggestions or recommendations?

Cheers
Vijay
