Node School Night

Node School Night started as Node Hackers at Hacker Dojo meetups before merging with BayNode. This is a recurring event held in Mountain View on the first Tuesday of each month. The format normally includes a few lightning talks related to the main learning topic for the evening.

Food and beverages graciously provided by our sponsor, StrongLoop. StrongLoop is a major contributor to Node.js and is the developer of StrongLoop Suite, a leading Mobile API tier. Learn more at: http://strongloop.com/

For the first half hour we will present some basic Express.js to demystify it a bit for newbies. The rest of the evening will be a node school workshop (http://nodeschool.io/). If there is interest, I'm also willing to discuss unit test basics with mocha (http://mochajs.org/).

Hi Alex, sorry I can't help with an Eclipse issue, but I can however assure you that $49 for a personal license for WebStorm is money well spent.

      I confirm. Webstorm is awesome.

Does anyone know if I use "nodemon" like this in my package.json file, if Eclipse will launch my Express.js app with "nodemon app.js" instead of "node app.js"?

Hi Alex, in this case, it is probably better to just run either 'npm start' (or 'nodemon app.js') from the command line anyway.

This may be too late for today's event but be considered for a future event. How about serving subway sandwiches instead of pizza? It will save money for the sponsor yet it's healthy for attendees.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
