From Here to There or How do you go about pulling your story together?
The approach to planning how you are going to carry the narrative of your story from beginning to end varies greatly from writer to writer.
Some people take their time and fashion detailed outlines. Others use a technique known as mind mapping. Many simply set the stage, introduce the characters, present them with a situation and let them carry the story, screen composing as the writer goes. How do you approach story telling?
At our next meeting we’ll discuss the various approaches we have used in the past, highlighting what works for you and what does not. In this, there are no wrong answers since this is very much a matter of choice, habit and style. ---Nancy Cole
Thanks for the idea, Nancy! Consider it scheduled! Hopefully this is a good time and location for everyone, so please let your voices be heard and let us know what will work for you or what suggestions you have!
Also, we can spend part of this meetup to continue to critique each other's work, which has been a big hit so far! The feedback I'm getting from our first critique night was very positive, so I'm looking forward to continuing the positive momentum and making this a regular part of our meetups!
