December Be Responsive Meetup

  • December 10, 2013 · 6:00 PM

As December is usually a festive season, for the next meetup we are going to do something different and a bit more relaxed at the same time.

The plan is to have 6 people to give a short talks about their "Responsive Experience" for about 5-7mins. It could be anything from your learning experiences, pain points, expectations for next year, or even your experience in using a particular responsive website.

After the talks we will move on to our usual discussion. We can ask questions to the speakers, each other, and add in our own opinions.

The list of speakers
1st slot : Ben Flanagan
2nd slot: Natalie Ann Wallis
3rd slot: Erik Hallander
4th slot: Max Lynam
5th slot: Joanne Lumsden
6th slot: Currently no one, but this could be you!

So currently 5 out of 6 slots has been filled, but we need 1 more speakers. If you are interested to share your thoughts for 5 minutes, please let us know. You can email us at [masked] or tweet us at @beresponsiveio. FYI we will have prizes, so let us know asap :)

Good - I think the talks really helped motivate the conversations afterwards, Zendy your questions really helped initiate the conversations too. Its a good format, with some time between presentations and then the open discussion but the sessions run a little late for me - long train ride home. Zendy well done on the whole idea and also to Jordan who puts in a lot of work as well!

Offscreen magazine, will sponsor us 6 of their magazines as a reward to the speakers next month. Currently we are looking for 3 more speakers. Since this is just sharing your thoughts, it will be a good opportunity for you to gain experience in speaking. If you plan to speak in a conference in the future, but scared to do so, this will be a good start. The topic is not too hard, and we are all a bunch of friendly people, and don't forget that we have prize. If you are a not a developer or designer, don't worry, you still can give a short talk. We want to hear your point of view. So, anyone want to volunteer to give a short talk?
