Please read full event description. Thanks.

What the heck do I mean by that?

I'm having an auction, and the majority of things will start at FREE.

That means I'll put it on the table and the opening bid is "free." So you can say, "I'd like that for free." Then if nobody else wants it, it is yours for free. If someone else wants it, they have to say, "Well, I'd be willing to pay 50 cents for it." And if you want it more than that, then you'd say, "Well, I'll pay $2 for it." And then maybe they'll say, "Okay, it is yours then."

Some items, however, will have a starting minimum bid.

Jay and I are selling and giving away the majority of our possessions. We have too much stuff for our tiny space and may in the future move into an even smaller space.

We want to give away awesome things because they are just too awesome to be trashed or sit around unused. We've already donated a dozen boxes or more to Amvets!

Items will include (but are not limited to): kitchen supplies, books (novels, art books, how-to books, etc), fabric, video games, art supplies (and possibly some art as well), Mary Kay products, furtniture, and possibly clothing as well.

Obviously, please bring cash.

Please do NOT bring anything to the auction that you'd like to get rid of. We have plenty, thanks.

If you'd like to come just to buy chocolates, just for an extra potluck or just to play games, that is fine, but it is probably best to let me know ahead of time or when you get here.

Yes, we've decided we're still selling chocolate for now.

The chocolates are organic and raw.

The flavors I MAY have:

White Chocolate
Fudge Chocolate
Mint Chocolate
Chili Chocolate
Maca Chocolate
Coconut Creams
Sweet & Sour "Candies" (goldenberry treats)

(Some flavors are nut-free, some flavors are date-free, some are honey-free, some are even cacao-bean free, etc.)

The chocolates are $4 for 2 ounces. Compare to organic raw chocolates at Feel Rite which are $7 for 1.5 ounces! And I use better ingredients (no agave!).

These chocolates are getting rave reviews, such as "excellent" and "so ****ing amazing" and "Wow! I didn't expect them to be THIS good" and "delicious" and so forth. I think you get the idea.

This is optionally a raw potluck. You do not have to bring anything and if you do bring something you do not have to have any experience with making raw food to come. Just bring some fresh organic fruit or organic romaine lettuce if you're unfamiliar with raw vegan cuisine.

If you do bring something, please do not use any agave or other refined sweeteners (syrups or powders) in your dish. Also, minimal nuts and no walnuts is also appreciated. Please no olive oil on salads, and dressings on the side. Thanks!

This will become a board game party after the auction for those who choose to remain. I have lots of games and I love gaming.

You may come as late as 4:30pm for the auction, but you'll probably have already missed a lot of awesome stuff if you're late.

You may come as late as 5:15pm if you're coming specifically to play board games.

Hey, really important guys – bring cloth or plastic bags to bring stuff home within! I've got lots of really awesome stuff for you guys. More than 50% of it will have a starting bid of "free!" so bring quarters so that you can outbid someone with 25 cents!

I think I must have already donated my spare fitted sheets. If I discover them at some point, they might go into a second auction if I discover I still have a lot to get rid of! :D

This sounds like a good time and I would be interested in art supplies. Such a great idea! I just recently got rid of most of my belongings or, stuff, as I like to call it. For me it was a liberating experience. Unfortunately, I have to start work at 5pm. Too bad, I really would like to attend.

Hi Monica, the auction itself will be mostly from 3:30pm to 5:00pm anyhow, we're playing board games afterward. So why not stop by anyway?

Paulette - Absolutely! You don't need to know a thing about raw diets, or even be interested in trying it. The point is to try it at the pot-luck, and listen to what people say.

Sounds like such a creative idea to get rid of some useful items. Board games sound fun too! Good company and board games....
