Please join us on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at ASHA for our first annual Country Jamboree, an exciting, fun-filled day/evening packed with expert presentations, scrumptious vegan food, live music, silent auction, and more!
ASHA's Country Jamboree is both a fun and educational event where guests come to learn about the latest in plant-based nutrition and farmed animal issues from a program of expert speakers. We are very excited about hosting:
Thomas M. Campbell, II, M.D. is the co-author of the national bestseller, The China Study (over 750,000 copies sold!), which he wrote along side his father, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, the leading researcher in the field of diet and disease. The China Study is the foundation upon which a nationwide plant-based diet movement is based and presents a clear message of hope as it dispels a multitude of healthy myths.
Melanie Joy, Ph.D., Ed.M. is the author of the award-winning primer on carnism, Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs and Wear Cows. Dr. Joy explains carnism, the invisible belief system that shapes our perceptions of the meat (and eggs/dairy) we eat, so that we love animals and eat others without knowing why.
George Eisman. MA, MSc, RD. is a Registered Dietition and the author of The Most Noble Diet; Don’t Let Your Diet Add to Your Cancer Risk, and A Basic Course in Vegetarian and Vegan Nutrition.
Anne Dinshah is author of Dating Vegans; Healthy Hearty Helpings; and co-author of Apples, Bean Dip, and Carrot Cake: Kids! Teach Yourself to Cook; and The 4 Ingredient Vegan. Anne will delight us with a fun and interactive Dating Vegans cooking demonstration with delicious ideas to heat things up for your next social encounter!
This event includes:
