Attention Members, and Potential New Members,

We're a scooter club in South Orange County. We don't disenfranchise scooterists because of their ride (i.e., CVs versus "shifters"; Asian versus Italian, etc.), nor do we arbitrarily limit the number of riders at a meetup event. Everyone is welcome to join, and ride, regardles of displacement, make or model. Hell, you needn't even be in the "949" Area Code!

My moniker is Scootermeister (aka Alan Spears). I took over as moderator to keep "BCSC" from fading into cyber-space. I'm a racer guy, and have posted land-speed and endurance events to this website in the hope of attracting you to attend or participate in scooter racing. Unlike most other racing organizations, Motor-Scooter International Land-Speed Federation (MSILSF) runs a very relaxed -- albeit safe -- race program. You can doll up in fancy road race leathers, or race naked, so long as you wear a DOT-approved helmet, gloves and shoes. Of course we "recommend" full battle-gear. No flip-flops! Shades optional. The first non-race meetup under my tutelage is under the auspices of the "760" North County San Diego Scooter Club  http://www.meetup.com/760NCSDSC/ on Sunday, December 16th, billed as the Pre-Christmas Coastal Ride. Like the MSILSF racing events, this will be a "rain or shine" meetup. I have found that many scooter clubs do short notice meetups, and I'm generally unable to attend because of prior commitments. Hence the December 16th date. I do hope you'll consider taking a break from your Christmas shopping and join us.
