Easy Evening to Night Dive

The moon will only be a sliver but we won't need its help as the sun goes down. This is a good first dive for those concerned about the darkness because we will start with some light in the sky. We'll stroll into a gentle surf (fingers crossed) and kick out a few yards to the first reef line.  Some may wish to kick all the way to the Seatech ledge but there is plenty to see on the trip out, too.  Since it is officially lobster season, hunting may begin at any time (make sure you have legally-required equipment and license).

If the conditions are right, this is an excellent first night dive for new or experienced divers.  (Rough surf calls for more experience at night.)  All divers must have a primary light and a backup light.  Personal markers and flag lights are highly-recommended.  Anyone wishing to receive credit for this dive as an Advanced Open Water Adventure Dive should make prior arrangements with Tom.

We'll gear up near the restrooms south of the pier.  A freshwater shower is available there and parking is only $1.50 per hour.

My 3rd dive, first night dive - it was Awesome !! Saw sea life that I have not seen in daylight hours - my fave was an octopus that we annoyed a bit, he displayed his "fighting" colors - Tom is an amazing instructor - his presence ensures that I always feel safe....

Hey, As some of you know, I volunteer for Sea Turtle Oversight Protection and we have our last turtle nest (in the Hollywood area) in the hatch window. After the dive, you are welcome to join us on the beach and hopefully see a hatchout.

Tom, will you have a tank and vest that I can use? This is only my third dive, I don't have all equipment yet.....I will shop for a skin tomorrow, and will purchase primary and backup lights as well.
