It's time for us to gather around the picnic table and share some great food and good dive stories. This time, we'll claim some space in North Hollywood Beach Park to grill the burgers. If we press him, Bob may bring his incredible bean salad that makes the picnic well worth the trip.
Between servings of food, we will host a gear swap open to all members. This is a chance to get some gear at bargain rates and to share with others gear that you no longer need. Terms of swap or sale are between member - we trust all will be done in the spirit of friendship and the good of beach diving. No dealers or stores are invited and commercial sales are unlawful in the municipal park.
Of course, we won't just eat great food and swap gear. There is a great reef just offshore that receives very little pressure from divers. The first reef is just beyond the sandbar in 16' of water. The second reef is more of a swim but after 15 minutes on the surface, you will find ledges that often host lobster and always have a wealth of tropicals, sponges, and corals.
As time grows near, we'll start a pot luck list. Fathom Five has already committed to hot dogs and buns, so we'll let the list grow from there. The park has fresh water showers and restrooms. Parking fees are $6 per car for all day - no meter feeding is necessary. Multiple tanks dives are absolutely encouraged.
