Valentines Day Dive at Dania Erojacks & Quarterdeck Grill

What more romantic site for a Valentine's evening than heart-shaped artificial reef devices swarming with fish, lobsters, and octopi.  Dive buddies will gear up at the north end of the parking lot and may stroll hand-in-hand up the beach to the entry point.  South Florida Beach Diver cupids will place scented candles on shore to mark the entry point and will carry a lit flag to the erojack site.  Buddy teams can explore the jacks from west to east, then follow the Seatech Ledge south until it is time to return to the beach.  Once ashore and gear is stowed, we'll enjoy appetizers and drinks at the famous Quarterdeck on the pier.

This is an intermediate level dive because it is a night dive requiring good navigation skills.  All divers should have a primary light and a backup.  Tank markers are recommended.  Each buddy team should have a dive flag with marker light or glow stick.  If lobstering, one must possess a current license and lobster gauge.

Parking is by mastermeter for $1.50 per hour.  Freshwater showers are available.  Rental gear is also available with proper notice.

Can some one please send the exact location of the entry point?

    February 12, 2014

    • Tom C.

We'll be parking as close to the pier as possible. Some may wish to enter north of the pier and some south. We do both several times a week.

    • Carlos

      Thank you for the clarification

I might be a little late since I'm coming from Coconut grove and traffic will likely be bad.

  • Senen G.

    Ok, I'll be there!

Has this dive been cancelled due to the prospective whether? If so or not, please let me know. Already have the gear on the truck and new batteries in the lights. Thanks

Weather forecast looks okay: 1-2 foot waves and less than 10 kts of wind.

Wish I could! To go diving on Valentines I would lose the rights to at least one of my testicles. :-) I have to get my girlfriend diving. Have fun guys! Leave some bugs out there for me.

Hey Tom, waiting on word regarding my schedule on Friday but I might be able to join you for the dive. Is it okay if I let you know tomorrow night? Also, would I be able to get a tank if I go?

    February 12, 2014

    • Liana

No problem. I'll make sure Tom reserves a tank for you. Thanks, Senen!

Hello group. Is it ok if I am solo. Also it will be my first night dive. Is this ok? I have done cenotes dive in cancun, so I am familiar with dark places while diving. If needed which I don't have right now is tanks and dive flag. The rest of the equipment I have.

    February 12, 2014

    • Carlos

Because it is a beach dive, the water is shallow, we often stay more than 60 min with one tank...

      February 12, 2014

    • Justo

Sounds great. Thanks for the heads up.

      1 · February 12, 2014

Hello everyone, where is the exact location for this night dive? Are we leaving from 65 north beach road in front of the Dania Grill again? Please clarify?

    Thank you,

    : - )

I'd love to leave her on the shore and go diving! I'm trying to work it out...
