What more romantic site for a Valentine's evening than heart-shaped artificial reef devices swarming with fish, lobsters, and octopi. Dive buddies will gear up at the north end of the parking lot and may stroll hand-in-hand up the beach to the entry point. South Florida Beach Diver cupids will place scented candles on shore to mark the entry point and will carry a lit flag to the erojack site. Buddy teams can explore the jacks from west to east, then follow the Seatech Ledge south until it is time to return to the beach. Once ashore and gear is stowed, we'll enjoy appetizers and drinks at the famous Quarterdeck on the pier.
This is an intermediate level dive because it is a night dive requiring good navigation skills. All divers should have a primary light and a backup. Tank markers are recommended. Each buddy team should have a dive flag with marker light or glow stick. If lobstering, one must possess a current license and lobster gauge.
Parking is by mastermeter for $1.50 per hour. Freshwater showers are available. Rental gear is also available with proper notice.
