Three suggestions for April
Fiction: The School of Essential Ingredients by Erica Bauermeister
The School of Essential Ingredients follows the lives of eight students who gather in Lillian's Restaurant every Monday night for cooking class. It soon becomes clear, however, that each one seeks a recipe for something beyond the kitchen.
Memoir: The Liar’s Club by Mary Karr
Karr’s comic childhood in an east Texas oil town brings us characters as darkly hilarious as any of J. D. Salinger’s—a hard-drinking daddy, a sister who can talk down the sheriff at twelve, and an oft-married mother whose accumulated secrets threaten to destroy them all.
Suspense: SUSPECT by Robert Crais
Scott is an LAPD officer whose partner, Stephanie, was murdered. Maggie was a USMC German shepherd patrol dog who lost her handler in Afghanistan. Now Scott and Maggie are an LAPD K9 team nobody trusts--damaged goods who are wounded, scared, and suspect.

Glad to find this group. I would like to suggest : What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. Story of a woman who sustained a fall and wakes up believing she is 29, but really she is closer to 40 with 3 children and a failing marriage. Also : The Fault in our Stars by John Green. Book tackles issues dealing with life, death in regards to terminal cancer. Don't believe the book is a downer. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Would like to suggest "Remnant Population" by Elizabeth Moon for us to read sometime. It's a favorite of mine, and there are 4 hard copies, plus an ebook, in the library system. Don't have my copy handy (it's in storage) or I'd bring it Thursday.

This is a tentative yes for right now. We will have a friend staying with us at that time, but she will probably be working during the day.
Ladies, this is the same group Yael started. Unfortunately she stepped down. But I could not stand the idea of all these members left out hanging and decided to step up and became the organizer. Shall we give it a try and see how it goes. Looking forward to meeting you soon.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
