As Chris have mentioned we found a relatively well suitable place, so I though before we commit to it, that we could give it try and see what you guys think.

Looking forward to trying out the new venue.
If it doesn't work out for us we could also look at moving to The Place Theatre on Bradgate Road.
We have some upstairs rooms that would work, although i'd technically be at work so might not be so much fun for me.
Long term i think i've got the perfect venue lined up for us that will be on the High Street, but we've got a little way to go first before we can move in there!
    I'll tell you more later....

Yes, Midland Rd does have a certain je ne sais quoi about it that's for sure. Bit far to walk to...

Where's the best place to park? I know there's a car-park at the end of the road, but I'd heard it can be dodgy for cars to be parked there at night time. Is that just an urban myth, or based on reality? Anyone know?

Personally I find Midland Road to have an air of dodginess about it, even during the day. As for the car park though; no idea.

No idea about the car park, you could try Rutland road, whenever there will be spaces though, not sure.

I'll give the place a go...though I will be spending the evening trying to avoid all my customers who hang out there! It would be fantastic not to come away smelling of smoke though :-)

The rowdy kind :-) still....they could all be in my shop Friday night so that I still get to escape them for an evening. A separate room is going to be great as the TVs can be a bit loud at the other place.

I agree, about a designated room / lack of TV noise would be brilliant, now curious to see your customers! lol

I'll bring something sprawling without a central board, to give the tables a proper test :-) Currently I'm thinking either Eclipse, Keyflower or 7 Wonders. Eclipse is the real test here, as it requires the banqueting table of a small castle! Any preferences?
