I started dancing Tango almost 7 years ago after having danced ballet first and then competed in and taught American Style Ballroom dance (all the other stuff... Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Samba, Mambo, Waltz, Am. Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, East Coast Swing, and Hustle). I started dancig Argentine Tango and fell in Love. The freedom it gives both leaders and followers is intoxicating. I focused only on Tango ever since. I've trained with many Argentine teachers and have traveled to Buenos Aires to study and to compete in the World Tango Championships (Mudial).
I started this Meet Up to help get word out to the Hawaiian community about Brett and I. We're new in town and would love to meet new people interested in learning about our favorite dance!
Brett and I (Jenny) have been teaching Tango for 7 years in San Francisco, LA and Orange County before moving to Hawaii. We've taught at colleges, dance studios, and give private lessons. I'm also a new professor in the Meteorology Dept at UH Manoa.
