Sunset photography field trip:
Let's photograph the Lions Gate Bridge from underneath the North Vancouver side at sunset when the lights turn on.
This is a great location under the bridge that is open to the public, but is NOT accessible by car or public transit directly so is rarely visited.
It is accessible by bike or walking though.
So...We will rendezvous at the Denny's restaurant at 8 PM (show up earlier and enjoy their great dinner if you like), hop in the car(s) and drive a kilometer or so and park at the gated entrance.
From there is a short walk on some dirt paths out to the gravel beach to start photographing from both east and west side.
Sunset is around 9PM-ish which is also when the lights turn on so we will have lots of time to chat, etc.
This is a great opportunity to practice your HDR High Dynamic Range technique too.
A tripod and remote shutter cable is suggested.
Bring a light jacket in case it's breezy.
The path might be a bit muddy and the beach is coarse gravel so good walking shoes is recommended.
Feel free to bring shared snacks and drinks too.
Those who require carpool transport will meet at 8 PM in front of the Denny's restaurant.
Please indicate if you can offer a car ride.
I can take 4 people in my truck and make a second shuttle trip too.
Otherwise make it out there on your own by biking or walking....you won't miss the people wandering around with cameras and tripods.
If there aren't enough cars then it's about a 30 minute walk from the Denny's to the photo spot.
I can drive some people back to downtown Vancouver public transit if necessary.
Let's hope for clear skies but it will be great even if it's cloudy but cancelled if raining.
