Unity3D and C# for beginners: get started and make your first simple game!

Learn how to set up Unity and make a simple 3D game in a free workshop!

No prior experience necessary, just a computer and a sponge-like brain. We will cater to the complete newbie, assuming 0 experience. We'll be covering the basics of C# and Unity.

If you were waitlisted for the last one, message me and I'll give you a spot.

## Students MUST BRING

A laptop with Unity installed. Go to the site and click download. We'll be using the free version of Unity. If you want to use Pro or the Pro trial, that's completely fine too.

Unity3D

## IT MUST BE INSTALLED. SERIOUSLY.

It's huge, don't expect to be able to download and install it here. If you don't have it,  you'll seriously be missing out, though you can still come. Open it at least once to make sure it works, too! I'll try to help anyone troubleshoot before we start.

Again,

OPEN IT AT LEAST ONCE. MAKE SURE IT WORKS!

See you there!

Excellent workshop. Sam was patient and by the end of the night, even a non-programmer like me, had figured out how Unity works. Very insightful. The Unity guys should be paying you to run these type of events! Thank you.

Excellent workshop. Got back to my colleagues and showed them the game I created. Game did not work at first, but I was able to troubleshoot based on what I learned in class. They are not excited about attending the next class.

    Hi Samuel,
I received a 7/27 email for a Google doc security form after RSVP'ing yes. I completed that form. Should I have received a new email from you?

I have a really old laptop. I tried to install the latest version of unity without success. Trying to install version 3.4, will that work for the meet up?

    July 18

    • Samuel E.

It *should* be alright for what we're doing, but I can't make any promises.
