Zen event at Zen Center of Los Angeles - Carpooling from Beginner's Mind

This Saturday (February 15th) INSTEAD OF our regular schedule, we will be visiting Zen Center of Los Angeles (at 923 South Normandie Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90006) for a workshop on the new book The Hidden Lamp: Stories from Twenty-Five Centuries of Awakened Women.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

The Hidden Lamp Workshop & Celebration at Zen Center of Los Angeles (ZCLA)
with/led by the book's co-editors Susan Moon and Florence Caplow

8:15am - Registration
8:30am - Service & chanting of Women Ancestors
9:00am - Zazen
9:45am - 12:45pm - Workshop on the book & the koans
12:45pm - Lunch and Book Signing

As the day's events begin at 8:15am, we will be carpooling from Beginner's Mind and leaving from here at 7:30am at the latest. You can also go to ZCLA directly. (Either way, however, please let us know if you will be attending -- RSVPs close at noon on Friday, 2/14! -- so we can help ZCLA plan for the day.)

We hope that as many members as possible will be able to come with us.  It is a good chance for us to get together with our distant cousins as well as to celebrate with Jane, who is one of the contributors featured in the book.

FEES. As ZCLA needs to help pay the traveling expenses of the two workshop teachers (who were responsible for the compilation of the book) and for the lunch, it is necessary that there be a charge for the event. However, they have offered to let us pay the ZCLA members' fee of $20, instead of the $30 asked for from others, and to extend further reductions for those who require it. Beginner's Mind Zen Center will also be happy to help out. (See Jane or Peter if you require financial assistance.)
