3-6 Foundations of Photography

The most important element of any learning is the foundation.

This is the first in a eight to ten part series designed to bring a beginner to an advanced level of photography, by understanding photographic basics, their camera, lenses, natural light, composition, landscape, macro, portraits, on/off camera flash, and studio strobes. The $20 fee covers instruction, printed materials, projector rental and room charges.

The session will include a fundamental understanding of the photographic process and the camera itself.  Attendees will learn how the lens, shutter, iris, viewfinder and sensor interact, as well as the relationship between ISO, shutter speed and aperture.

Attendees will receive the Learning Photography notebooks as well as complete written notes of the topics covered at this meeting.

To secure a space, click RSVP, and pay the $20 class charge using Paypal or credit card. Refunds are available if the cancellation is made at least 24 hours in advance.

    Jim,
Thanks for the lively and simple presentation of a rather complexe topic. I learned a lot of new things and I am looking forward to learn a lot more in the upcoming events.

    Hi Jim!
Thank you for the very informative basics of the class. I was very happy as many of these things I did not know and it's good to know about the little details of the thing you LOVE! Looking forward to upcoming classes and the outings!

Great class. It was so easy to understand. I learned more in this one class than I have in other series of classes.

Awesome! Better than expected. Thank you for breaking it down into small, understandable parts. I learn better with visual aids rather than trying to comprehend manuals. See you next week! (Suggestion: Have a handout with the 8-10 classes offered in this series and approximately when you offer them throughout the year. I can't do all of them now, but do want to make them up.)
