This is a group for people who would like to learn photography from the ground up. It includes instruction on all the basics of camera operation, and works you through outdoor and indoor shooting. From there we will work to more advanced topics which include taking it off automatic, and discussions of how to use your DSLR cameras. We will break into different groups, so all instruction is personalized to you and your needs.
I would like to have everyone who attends each of the sessions build a book with a thousand tips on how to be a better photographer. I'll hand out a chapter at each session. We may need to have two session for each chapter to include those who have schedule conflicts.
We have a packed schedule for the first few months of 2013 with fifteen Meetups scheduled for the Learning Photography group. Iv'e tried to incorporate most of the most sought after topics that came from the current poll, using our schedule of every other Thursday evening for the classes. If you have not added to the poll, please go to the site, click on "More" at the top, and then click on "Polls" to participate
For those who missed some of the earlier classes, I have “make-up sessions” scheduled in January. Then we will move on to new topics. I do need to schedule a make-up session on Flash Photography, and will do that shortly. Please take a look at the schedule, and see what fits your needs.
Note that we have three field trips planned as well as the classroom work: Franklin Park Conservatory in January, Slate Run Metro Park in February and Inniswood Gardens in April. We will probably add one in March as well.
We have had some amazing growth in our brief six months of existence, and now have 169 members. It should be a fun year!
