Meeting at Bells Bridge, this is a BLUE route which will follow National Cycle Route 7 to Balloch. From here we will go along the western shore of Loch Lomond towards Arden, where we will take Luss Road towards Helenburgh and finish at Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s Hill House. The house closes at the end of October so this is our last chance to pop in past for a shoofty! It is £10 to get in but I hear it is worth every penny! I believe there is a cycle route (41) which links Balloch with Luss and Helensburgh but I haven't tried it before so I'm going to fit in a recce sometime soon and report back on the terrain - for now i'm going to say from Balloch beyond it is hilly! Total mileage is around 40 miles. Anyone who wants to can cycle back and double the distance can or there is the option to get the train back to Glasgow from Hellenburgh. This route will include some sections on busy roads, hills and the pace will be faster as we will need lots of time at our destination! It will also be the end of October so please wrap up warm, pack your waterproofs and extra layers just in case! Please also take some lunch with you (although there is a cafe at the Hill House).
