The Deschutes National Forest and Discover Your Forest invite the Central Oregon community to Sunriver, Oregon on July 25 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act film and photography exhibit.
The evening will feature the landscape photography of Jeffrey Murray. Murray’s work has been featured in National Geographic and other national publications. He began his career in photojournalism with the Arizona Republic, then became a wildland firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service before moving full time into landscape photography.
The event will be held at the Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic and Recreation Center (SHARC) at 57250 Overlook Rd, in Sunriver, with an artist reception throughout the evening. Murray’s will be speaking at the event and the American Experience documentary on legendary photographer Ansel Adams will be shown at 6:30 p.m.
Photography by Murray will be for sale with a part of the proceeds benefiting Discover Your Forest.
A suggested donation of $5 to Discover Your Forest will be taken at the door. Discover Your Forest is a local non-profit supporting the Deschutes and Ochoco National Forests and Crooked River Grassland.
