Snowbrush Night XC Ski

  • February 21, 2013 · 6:00 PM

Let's do Wednesdays to Snowbrush to Manzanita with a stop at Meissner shelter loop. It will be about 5 miles at a moderate pace. Bring water, warm drinks and snacks. We will stop for a few minutes at the shelter. No dogs in these areas. Bring a Snow Park pass if you plan to drive. Pack the 10 essentials, cell phone and extra layers. Have a good headlight and extra batteries. If you plan to meet us at the Meissner snowpark please put that in the rsvp. The snowpark is on Cascade Lakes hwy just before Wanoga on the right. Who ever gets there first has to start the fire. Bring some firestarter and matches. Parts of this trail may be groomed. Please stop and wait for the group at all trail intersections.

  • Tonight Snow likely, mainly after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Great skiing with about 1 1/2 inches of new snow. Snowing most of the time, which made it extra special.

Hi Molly....I am afraid I am gonna bail too! Bummer... because I have been waiting for my schedule to align with one of these events. I will look forward to the next one....hopefully a non groomer. I still am learning which trails are what... thx.

I'm going to join the bailers --- the conditions appear a bit iffy tonight. Next week.

Molly is your sole host tonight - I'm having to bail; buried in work ... hope you guys find unexpectedly pleasant snow.

I was looking forward to doing this trail, but I think I will stay home and do my snow dance instead. Hope we get a lot more than just an inch or two by the weekend.

Sorry to cancel but I was hoping we'd get some new snow. My knee isn't up to ice skating.

Hi I am sorry to cancel at the last minute for tonight's ski. I am not feeling well and was hoping that I would be feeling better by this afternoon.

From the Meissner Facebook page: Groomer just called in. We are having issues with the cat. No fresh grooming at this point. The snow is too hard to do much with the snowmobile groomer as well. We will update latter if we are able to get out. Keep your fingers crossed.

Dave Cummings On tangent now and not horrible. About a half inch of new stuff. Need more!

Mary Kramer Ramos Skied out toward cinder pit this morning. It's very skiable with the layer on top.
