Road Bike - Easy to Moderate 24 Miles Around Tumalo

Ride approximately 24 miles at an easy to moderate pace (12 to 14 mph).  Most of the route is on the Twin Bridges Scenic Bikeway.  A couple of moderate climbs, but mostly level. Estimated 2 hour length. This is not a beginners ride.  Riders must be comfortable climbing moderate hills and maintaining a 12 to 14 mph average speed.  Optional sandwiches after the ride at Tumalo Coffee House.

Another fantastic Tues a.m. social ride. Fun pace, group, and after-ride lunch. Thanks again, John!

Bill, thanks a ton for helping me with my tire. I went to work after the ride and when I pulled my bike out of the car this evening the tire was flat again. Next I went to a cycle shop and they found the leak so I purchased a new tube.

In spite of my tire leak, it was great as usual.

Nice job John. When's the next "slow to moderate ride"?

Today's blue sky and cool breeze made today's ride even better than the last Tumalo loop

Great ride thanks John. I lead some of the faster riders ahead to make the ride safer. I hope that helped. Good to see everyone.

Hi Linda ---- One of the things that BACE strives for is "truth in advertising". The easy / moderate road rides that I lead are advertised as 12 to 14 mph. That is what riders expect. We try to avoid having groups riding at much faster pace from splitting off - although there usually is a "fast" and "slower" grouping.

Oops - I accidentally hit send too soon. The other feature of the easy / moderate rides is that we try to socialize as a group after the ride. If some riders are splitting off at a much faster pace, we tend to lose much of the social aspect.

John, I expect to ride from my house. I'll leave about 9am to allow plenty of time to meet you at Tumalo Coffee house. I'll plan on eating lunch there after the ride then ride back home. Thanks for putting on these rides. They have been a lot of fun!

Sounds like a glitch in the meetup system - why don't we "beat the system' by having one of you just sign an additional waiver page and give to me on the next ride.

    August 25, 2013

  • John S.

All BACE rides are "no pluses". The reason for this is that there is a liability waiver built into sign up posting. We want to have liability waivers from everybody on the ride.

John and Legi, We share one email address. We can only sign up once per email address. Don't want to create another email address just to sign up Sue separately. We were both under one profile but were told not to do that either. What do we do?

      August 25, 2013

  • Bill Morgan and Sue M.

add Sue to this ride please

    August 25, 2013

    • Legi

Hi Bill, I think that Sue has to add herself to the ride. See Rules in the ride description above. I'm guessing it's a liability thing. Have a great ride!
